Everyone needs some time away every so often. A getaway, a holiday, a vacation, call it what you will, all of us need a little time off sooner or later. A day or three (or maybe a week or two) when the normal rules and routine does not apply. I'm not talking about the weekend, because most of us have a 'typical' weekend that we usually default to. I'm talking about completely leaving normal to go somewhere or do something that we would not normally do — essentially pulling a Ferris Bueller.
Not long ago, while travelling on the PEI — Nova Scotia ferry, I saw someone who, while fictitious, certainly was in need of a break. Although he looked to be taking a bit of a walk on the wild side. I snapped a quick photo with my cameraphone:

Did you spot the jolly old elf? Here's a closer view.

I'm not sure if he's trying to remain incognito, but those sunglasses aren't doing a thing to help. Although, he did leave the usual red and white outfit at home in favour of something a little more. . . contemporary.

No sign of Rudolf and company. Unfortunately, I wasn't parked on the same vehicle deck, so I'm not sure whether jolly old saint Nick rides a Harley Davidson or a Honda Goldwing.
