Absurdity in Signage: Look Before You Leap

The Iles de la Madeleine are a unique place. They are very obviously east coast, while remaining very much a part of Quebec. I've never been anywhere else that's really anything like this narrow archipelago. What is perhaps most noteworthy, though, apart from the tendency of the locals to park their cars by the side of the road and wander into the swamps during the day, and perpetually drive with their high beams on at night, are the road signs. Below are two examples.


Or maybe there is a surprise on the other side...

I guess the hill is going to surprise your car, or something? It's not even that much of a hill. I guess Quebecois cars are easily surprised.


The perspective is misleading, this was a good 30 feet from the edge

This is one of the funniest signs I have ever seen. The poor stick figure falling helplessly to his death is at once tragic and hilarious. Below is a close up of the sign itself.
