Does everyone remember the Smurfs? If you don't, well, I'm not going
to refresh your memory at this point. For those that do remember the aforementioned
little blue hat-wearers, this should be an interesting and mildly entertaining
feature. The Smurfs had a tendency to use the word "smurf" as
a catch all word, to the point where they could scarcely go three sentences
without getting some form of "smurf" in. When you don't have
anything good to say, just say Smurf.
Who else does this sort of thing? Rock musicians, of course.
How often do the words "rock and roll" or "dance"
get thrown into a song just because someone wasn't creative enough to
figure out something better? If you said "way too often" you'd
be correct.
Have you figured out what I've gone and done? Yes, I've
taken a variety of songs and replaced every instance of "rock,"
"roll," and "dance" and replaced them all with the
word "smurf." Yes, I do seem to have entirely too much time
on my hands.
