In case you haven't noticed, I'm alternating quotes and fun facts from
week to week. Enjoy.
Song of the Week: I want a magic bus. Well, not really,
but I do love the song "Magic Bus" by The Who.
It's not a typical Who song, if there can be anything that's described
as typical with the The Who. In fact, I can't really describe it, so just
go download it now.
Link of the Week: Ever wonder how a CD player actually
works? How about a cell phone, or a cruise missle? How about things that
start with different letters? If you want to know, check out HowStuffWorks.com
for explanation of the workings of all manner of stuff. I highly recommend
their question of the day.
Quote of the Week: "We are shaped and fashioned
by what we love" — Goethe. Hey, I don't quote dead German guys
all that often. But I have quoted Goethe before. In fact, this very quote
was my yearbook quote when I graduated from high school. I guess I was
feeling serious and meaniful when picked that, unlike a friend who chose
as his quote "For more information on the piping plover please contact
the Canadian Wildlife Society in Ottawa."
DVD of the Week: Okay. I'll come out and admit
it. I think Michael Douglas is a good actor. There, I've said it. You
can stop gasping now. Sure, he's made some bad movies, but who hasn't?
I just happened to buy Falling Down recently, and in fact it's
sitting in my DVD player right now. This movie isn't for all tastes, but
it is powerful and certainly worth a watch. There's not much in the way
of extras on the DVD, alas.
